Drawing May 6th at 7 pm in McDowell; you do not need to be present to win.

Saturday, May 6:

9:00 am - Event opens to spectators / camps open for tours

9:00 am - Guest Speaker at McDowell Presbyterian Church - Richard Armstrong,

                    The Battle of McDowell

9:00 am - 1:00PM - Military Camp Life and Living History Scenarios throughout


10:00 am - Guest Speaker at McDowell Presbyterian Church - Lori Botkin,

                    1860s Women’s Clothing

11:00 am - Guest Speaker at McDowell Presbyterian Church - Gregg Clemmer

12:00 pm - Guest Speaker at McDowell Presbyterian Church - Rev. Beth Pyles,

                    History of the McDowell Presbyterian Church

1:00 pm – Troops begin to mobilize to battle

1:30 pm – Gate opens to battle viewing area

2:00 pm – 3:00pm – Battle reenactment

3:30 pm  - Guest Speaker at McDowell Presbyterian Church - Lorraine White,

                Highland’s African Americans through the Civil War

4:00 pm – Federal Dress Parade

5:00 pm – Public event closes

Food Available at the McDowell Firehouse, McDowell Presbyterian Church, and local stores.

Cost: Admission to the spectator viewing area for the battle is $2 per person. Tickets will be on sale at the Information Table and at the viewing area entrance

Sunday, May 7:

Park Ranger Jeff Driscoll, of the National Park Service, will be offering a free tour of the McDowell Battlefield from 1:30-3:30, beginning at the Museum.

A tour up Sitlington’s Hill may also be included.
